We can’t explain why guests say they relax the minute they enter Dolphin House.
Maybe it’s because the cheerful coastal vibe reminds them that they’ve finally made their escape to the beach. Or because comfortable furnishings and sun-filled spaces make this rental truly feel like home. Or because arriving in Gulfport means entering a vibrant community with a be-who-you-are attitude.
No matter the reason, we love knowing guests can find peace at our 2BR/2BA rental in the heart of the Waterfront District. From its shaded yard to its beach chic entertaining areas, Dolphin House is the ideal landing pad for you, your closest friends or family, and even your pup. Come discover Gulfport's beaches, dining, and jam-packed lineup of events—from farmer’s markets to full-fledged celebrations.
A DAY AT DOLPHIN HOUSE
In all three bedrooms, bright color schemes and tropical décor will fill you with Floridian spirit before your feet even hit the floor. Wake up lazily in the master’s king-size bed or either of the guest room’s queens.
Refresh in either of the two full bathrooms—one designated for the master, the other shared between the two guest rooms. If you need to check in with the real world, there’s a spot for that in the office off the master.
Get the day started by whipping up something fresh. Our fully equipped galley kitchen has plenty of counter space for chopping and prepping, plus a large fridge for all your farmer’s market finds.
Take your breakfast out to the shaded back patio and have a moment to yourself beneath the yard’s tall oak tree, or settle in around the six-person dining table for coffee and conversation.
The kitchen and dining space serve as the heart of this split floor plan home—here, you’ll find the perfect balance between privacy and time together.
Two living areas, one near the two guest bedrooms and another near the master, are chockfull of breezy charm. Opt for board games in the bamboo stalk green front living area or sink into cozy sofas for movie night in the back living area. Both have their own flat-screen TVs.
WHY WE LOVE DOLPHIN HOUSE
Fun, a little bit funky, and totally inviting, Dolphin House takes a cue from Gulfport itself. And it’s no wonder: this rental is tucked in the heart of town, just a 5-minute walk from the Waterfront District.
“Bored” isn’t in Gulfport’s vocabulary. No matter when you make your way here, you’ll find some way to immerse yourself in this unique community. Like GeckoFest, an annual end-of-summer celebration full of groovy jams, quirky street performers, and costume-clad revelers. Or bi-weekly art walks, weekly farmer’s markets, and summer sock hops.
When you’re ready to take a break from downtown’s lively spirit for something a little quieter, pedal one of our complimentary bikes a half-mile to the Pinellas Bike Trail or walk a block to the dog park with your four-legged pal.

Everything was perfect for our 3 day stay. The home was fully furnished and equipped with everything we would need. The decor was tasteful and charming and the location for dining was superb. Check in was a breeze as well as check out. Responsive to any questions or concerns. Will definitely consider again!

The house is adorable and in a PRIME location. Gulfport is charming and the people so nice. All of the beaches are just minutes away, so we went to St. Pete, Madeira, and Pass-a-Grille--each different, but still awesome. Day trip to Sarasota and a Rays game at night. Finally, St. Petersburg is really fun and hip and urban! Lots of good food and breweries! It was a pleasant surprise.

This is our 2nd visit to this great property. It's roomy, neat, has everything we needed and more. We pulled the shades during the day and boy, when we got home the temperature was PERFECT and just dark enough for a good afternoon nap! We will be back!

Dolphin cottage was a perfect rental for my boyfriend, my daughter, her husband and myself while we were in the area for my son's wedding last weekend. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and roomy. We were only one block from the fun waterfront area of Gulfport with its wonderful restaurants and artsy shops. I definitely recommend Dolphin Cottage and would love to stay here again on my next trip. I also recommend dining at Isabellas and Pia's Trattoria.

The perfect location for our family of 6 to gather to celebrate my sisters wedding. The property is very well kept and had everything that we needed and more. Management was very helpful and accommodating. The location is convenient to everything and just a quick walk to some great bars, restaurants and coffee shops. We hope to visit again!

The pictures on line were real and did not over state the home! Very clean, spacious and in a GREAT location. We had a group of 4 and the separate locations of bedrooms and bathrooms worked out well! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your home!

We spent 4 nights over Easter in this precious home. The rental was immaculate and so conveniently located. We were a short walk to 2 parks, a beach, and multiple shops and restaurants. Gulfport is a charming town! During our stay, there was an Easter egg hunt on the waterfront for children, a spring festival, sunrise Easter service on the beach, and an art walk. We enjoyed a visit to nearby Weedon Island and Fort DeSoto park. Such great memories from our trip!

We stayed in the Dolphin House for a month and enjoyed every single day. The house is spacious, comfortable and very well stocked with china, linens, etc. It is also immaculate with upscale furniture- pets are allowed, but you would never know any had been in the house. The location is wonderful- an easy walk to the waterfront and all of the fabulous restaurants in Gulfport. My highest praise goes to Beth, property manager. She responds quickly to questions and if there are any issues ( I left some clothes in the closet on departure day) she readily facilitates a resolution. This property is an outstanding rental in the heart of a fun, cozy community.

The Dolphin House is ideally situated 2 blocks from the beach and main action of pubs and shops. The house is just like the pictures. Beautiful side and backyard, filled with Palm tress and other trees. Very private indeed. The house itself is very spacious, neat and clean. You don't need to buy anything for cooking, it's all there.
Beth was excellent. I talked to her on the phone and communicated by e-mails and Beth is very responsive.
I certainly recommend The Dolphin House as we would certainly book it again..... and we had excellent weather :)

We've stayed at this house five times over recent years. It is so pleasant, comfortable, roomy and well-located near restaurants and the beach at Boca Ciega Bay. Owner-manager Beth deserves great credit for designing and maintaining this and her other properties. They are not fussy or pretentious--just done with great style and attention to detail, such as: lighting, HD cable tv package, decor, comfortable furniture and landscaping. And--Dolphin House is pet friendly, with a lovely enclosed yard and patio, perfect for our golden retriever. The split design means that you can have friends or relatives stay with you, with their own bedrooms (2), bathroom and living room, with the kitchen and dining area in between the two split areas.

As soon as you walk in you relax.
spacious, well laid out, clean, everything you need to cook or make a special drink.
a block away from restaurants and shops in downtown Gulfport. Nice back yard area to grill and relax. Would definitely stay there again.

We had a lovely time at Dolphin House and found the accommodations, especially the split floor plan, perfect for 6 adults and an infant so there was separation during the baby's fussy period during the night. We had no complaints, other than the noisiness of the AC compressor outside the master bedroom that was a little distracting when I went to read for a while in the beautiful back yard. The location was also perfect for attending a family wedding at the Gulfport Casino.

My family of 4 came to GulfPort for a short, 2-day getaway to visit a friend. We were thrilled with the layout of the home and how roomy it was. Our teens practically had half of the house to themselves and my husband and I had the other half! The home, however, is very open and flows well. It was easy to move about and move in and out. We already want to come back and will absolutely want to book this particular property. On the last night we had an issue and the management was SUPER responsive. We ended up not needing their solution but appreciated their attention and solution. We absolutely love Gulf Port! We walked to the tennis courts at the park there, walked to restaurants, enjoyed the Tuesday Market, walked to the pier, rode our bikes and explored the neighborhood (and stopped for ice cream), and had a short drive to the beaches. Fantastic location. Very cool neighborhood. We would never get a hotel after this vacation!

Arrived the day after a Hurricane so unsure about what to expect but the house was very impressive and had plenty of room.
Kitchen was a little dated but had everything that was needed.
Local to the town and the beach ( unfortunately that was shut to the effects of the Hurricane )and easy enough to travel around to get to the sights.
Overall happy

Would absolutely stay at this house again! It was great! Very spacious with private back patio and grill. We had 7 people total and there was more than enough room. Location was great, very quiet neighborhood. House was very clean, fully stocked kitchen (not including food) and shower towels were provided. If you have more than 6 people I would recommend bringing a few extra shower towels. Beach towels were provided along with chairs.

The house had everything we needed and then some! It was perfectly suited to us (2 couples)plus had an extra bedroom. The owner was very helpful and the Town of Gulfport was unique with plenty of restaurants, shops, beach area and all of it kept very clean. We had a wonderful time!

Our experience was very good overall. Unfortunately, the slider door from the bedroom to the outside had a latch that didn't work so we could not latch or lock it while we were gone. Also anyone wearing light color socks ended up with black bottoms to their socks.

We had a wonderful time. The Dolphin House was much more than we had expected. A beautiful home in a quiet, safe and friendly neighborhood. The locals were great. Ms. Sexworth, the manager, and the staff took care of our every need. The only thing that will make the photos of the Dolphin House look better, will be your family standing in them. Hope you have a wonderful stay. We most certainly did.

Loved staying at the Dolphin house! We had 3 small kids and 3 adults but had plenty of room for us all to be comfortable. It is around a few restaurants (we didn't get to try due to other plans) and walking distance from the bay. I would certainly go back and stay here.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Beth has thought of absolutely everything to include in the home, from a completely stocked kitchen, to laundry detergent, to beach chairs. The home was very clean and had a "homey" feel. Thank you Beth for a wonderful vacation!

We enjoyed another delightful stay at the Dolphin House. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with the upgrades to the house. The charming house, literally a block away from some of the best restaurants in the St. Pete's area, was even brighter, more inviting and comfortable this year than last.

The Dolphin House was wonderful! The minute we stepped in we all felt like we were at home. It was clean had everything we needed and the furnishings gave one a warm fuzzy feeling. As we were leaving we all agreed that it was first vacation we had ever been on when we hated to leave the house.

First of all, the pictures do not do this rental justice. It was a nice surprise to enter the home and find it so charming. I'll list the pro/cons.
Pros: Sweet little blue house, a summer Floridian home, set up for renters.
There are three good tvs though the house, so everyone could watch what they wanted. Located one short block from the main Beach st where many restaurants and shops are located. The neighborhood is quiet and we all slept well. It is also a short distance to walk (5 min) down to the 'beach front'; not this isn't really a swimming beach, but has a long pier where folks fish; there is also a small park on the shore. There are a few spots like OMalleys where you can sit outside and almost be on the beach. Pretty area, safe, too. Its a small, relaxed town.
Cons: Its a tiny bit dated, although, you can tell they've put a lot of work into keeping it fresh. The master bedroom is huge and has a patio. The middle bedroom is 'girlish' but pretty, ok for adults, but no good makeup area. The small bedroom is blue/boyish and more child like; but it has a dresser mirror that has the best lighting. And my last con is the early checkout time; 10am seemed so early, especially when the body is on a different time zone; plus they ask you to clean up some things; its not like a maid service where you can just walk out. We spent about an hour cleaning up.
But all in all, we really enjoyed the property and would easily stay again! "Beth", the rental manager, was easy to deal with and 'put up' with my numerous requests and such. She was excellent assisting me.
We loved the convenience of this property and felt safe and comfortable.
Stayed 3 days in April, 2015
we had a great stay. A few minor problems. The knobs are worn out on the gas grill, I had to use plyers that I luckily had in my car. And the if nighters on the grill is shot. Also the hand held fire starter stopped working after night one. But other than that the place was clean warm and inviting.

My friends and I came from Philadelphia, PA. for a friends wedding that was held at St. Pete's Beach (only 15-20 min drive). When we first arrived, we were very pleased with the home. It was perfect for the six of us (all couples). Just a block or two away there are several restaurants, If you love seafood I recommend going to Maddies. Their food is AMAZING!

We only had one slight issue (that was caused by the previous tenant) with maintenance but, Beth was right on it and accommodated our needs and the issue was fixed within a reasonable timeframe. We all said we'd love to come back some time and stay here again.

The Dolphin House was wonderful and just as described. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home to accommodate two families traveling together. We each had our own space as well as a shared space for cooking and eating.Everything we needed was so easy to find as the kitchen was so well organized with labels in all the cupboards and drawers as to their contents. Gulfport is such an artsy and eclectic town and we were within walking distance to everything. We were also an easy drive to Clearwater, Tarpon Springs and other tourist locations. We highly recommend the Dolphin House to anyone wanting a great vacation home.

This was our third visit to Dolphin House in Gulfport, FL. We love Gulfport and we love Dolphin House. Gulfport is like old-time Florida, quiet and peaceful, easy to park and drive, good restaurants, art walks, and right on Boca Ciega Bay. Dolphin House is spacious, comfortable and well-equipped, including three flat-screen TVs and wi-fi.
Most of all, it is dog-friendly, with a charming fenced-in backyard and patio. The owner continuously makes improvements and upgrades to the property. It is only a short walk to the beach and to the nice restaurants. We will definitely be back again.(The only suggestion I would have is that the larger sofa in the main living room seems to be getting uncomfortable, without enough back support.) Otherwise, everything else is just great!

My family stayed for one week. We found the house to be exactly as described. It was very clean and equipped with everything we needed
Stayed 3 days in November, 2014
This house has plenty of room for up to 8 people and is larger than it may seem. It is stocked and furnished as described, and the outdoor/patio setting is very pleasant. It is in a great location for walking into the little town of Gulfport, which we loved, as well as being easy driving distance of St. Petersburg Beach, downtown St. Petersburg, and Clearwater. The surrounding neighborhood is very modest, but safe.

We were satisfied when we walked in the door exceptionally clean with no fear
Of bed bugs. Fit all our needs with a great restaurant and bar a block away not
To mention the beach. Close to all desires or needs. Beth handled all our questions and concerns promptly and to our satisfaction. Just a pleasant experience well worth the cost

Had a great stay in Gulf Port. Dophin House was a lovely property with lots of space. Deceiving from the outside but very spacious on the inside.
All equipment in the house worked and was very easy to operate.
One issue with a few insects but I think expected in this climate. Bug sprays were available in the house so were used.
Location was good but as with most places in Florida a car is needed to get around.
Would recommend this location for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

This was the ideal place for our family which ranges in age from 7 months to 90 years. The house is divided in such a way that we could used one half for little ones and the other half for those who preferred quiet. Gulfport is a quaint village that lends itself to rest and easy access to fishing, eating, hanging out, partying, walking and jogging. We would definitely consider returning.
Stayed 7 days in April, 2014
The house is in a great location where it's away from the craziness of St. Pete but you can walk to nice restaurants in Gulfport. The condition of the house was fine but there was an unpleasant musty/cat litter like smell that seemed to permeate everything. That being said the kitchen was amazingly well stocked with equipment we don't even have at home (ice cream maker!) and it was the perfect size for our family.
Stayed 7 days in March, 2014
We were three single women. The house is roomy with a sitting area and two bedrooms & bath in the front and then after the kitchen/dining area, a larger family room, master bath and laundry. Back porch is nice. The front bathroom could be updated, but its acceptable.

Gulfport is a cute little town with one street of shops and restaurants ending at the bay. Good restaurants, easy walking around, close to St. Petersburg and other interesting places. All in all a wonderful week.

We just returned to snowy PA after a wonderful 28 day stay at the Dolphin House in Gulfport. The place was very clean, surprisingly large and well laid out, had a kitchen with everything you could possibly need (with all the good restaurants in Gulfport, I only cooked 6 times), and beautiful landscaping. It was the perfect place to have guests as there are two living areas and three flat screen tvs. It is a block away from all the action, but the street is very quiet. The management (Beth) was extremely helpful. Any problem was dealt with immediately (ex: plumber). The only negative things were a dog odor on the sofa and the neighboring houses are fairly rundown. The Dolphin House is the most charming on the street. We loved our stay and we loved Gulfport!

We had a pre-Christmas vacation in the Dolphin House with our 2 Afghan Hounds. The house is spacious and has all high-end electronics. The backyard is completely fenced (6') and beautifully landscaped. With a beautiful park just blocks away to the water, and the Arts District one block away -- you couldn't find a more perfect location in Gulfport!

Our family members came to Gulfport, Florida from 5 states to attend a nephew's wedding in Bradenton. We were all flying into Tampa. Gulfport is a charming waterfront area of St. Petersburg just 30 miles south of the airport and 30 miles north of Bradenton. Most of the rentals here are one or two bedrooms. We were delighted with the spacious, 3-bedroom Dolphin House. The layout includes the initial historic cottage with two bedrooms, a bath down the hall and a cozy living room. Then you walk through the updated kitchen into a great room with a dining table that seats 8, a large sitting area with TV, an upscale bathroom with walk-in shower, a laundry/computer room, and a spacious master bedroom. The fenced-in yard is well-maintained with a back patio area for grilling and outdoor dining. Dolphin House was perfect for the six of us. One morning, one person slept in late while two practiced Tai Chi with a DVD in the back living room, two were in the kitchen and another was reading a book in the front living room. We love to cook, and found everything we needed in the kitchen, including electric mixers, muffin tins, and both a drip and a French press coffee maker. We are looking for an excuse to stay in Dolphin House again!

The home was nicely laid out with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 2 living rooms, kitchen and laundry room. The kitchen separates the home into two living quarters. We closed off the one section since we did not need it. To be fair, the only con was the smaller bedroom had the most comfortable bed but there was three beds for us to choose from. The backyard is small but well landscaped with a sitting area. Our dog Sabre enjoyed roaming through the plants but he really enjoyed the walks. There is a dog park 2 blocks to the north, regular park 2 blocks to the south along with boardwalk along the inter-coastal water. We truly enjoyed the morning walks along the water and the view of the day beginning and activities starting along the Gulfport Blvd. Two blocks to the west is restaurants and stores. We enjoyed meals at Peg's Cantina and Backfin Blue along with drinks at O'Maddys.
